Goitre have largely been eradicated in western cultures primarily from the addition of iodine into table salt. However in third world countries it is a still far more common.
The most famous sufferers of Goitre (Graves Disease) are Former US President George H. W. Bush and his wife Barbara Bush. Both were diagnosed with Graves' disease and goitres, within two years of each other. Statistically that this should happen is quite remarkable.
I do not know if the boosting of the body’s functions is the reason the examples I have put online were successfully treated with the tea, or if iodine or a similar acting chemical is present in the tea, but it is very interesting that these people were able to recover from the condition in an advanced state without surgery.
